Galley Render turns a template plus a JSON payload into a PDF, PNG or JPG behind a signed URL. The short path: `render` with a template name and data. No API key is needed for the first 50 renders — a trial is minted on the first call and its token comes back in the response. Carry that token in the `X-Galley-Api-Key` header to stay on the same trial, and call `create_account` with an email to lift the limit; the trial is upgraded in place, so nothing you made is lost. Before rendering an unfamiliar template, call `get_template` and read its JSON Schema, or `validate_data` to dry-run a payload for free. Pin a version (`invoice@3`) in anything you ship. Renders are deterministic and cached: identical template version, data and options return the stored object with `cached: true`, at no cost. Errors carry a stable `type`, a `docs_url` and, for validation, the field path, the expected type and an accepted example — fix the payload from the error and retry.
